Tomball, TX – The Tomball Art League is proud to announce the completion of a downtown beautification project that has transformed a once unrecognizable public restroom facility into a charming, German-inspired landmark in historic Tomball.

Before the project began, the building bore little resemblance to a public amenity and lacked visual character. Today, through thoughtful design and artistic craftsmanship of local artists, it reflects the warmth and heritage of the community it serves.

The facade was designed by Tomball Art League artist Eric Sundin, incorporating traditional German architectural elements such as timber framing, green shutters, and vibrant flower boxes. The mural-style transformation honors Tomball’s rich German roots while enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the downtown district.

The project was painted by Eric with assistance from fellow Tomball Art League artists Rafa Gonzalez, Teri Clark and Dana Daigle. Together, the team donated their time and talent to create a welcoming structure that now blends seamlessly into the historic charm of downtown.

“This project represents the power of art to elevate everyday spaces,” said a League representative. “What was once a plain, easily overlooked building is now a point of pride for our community.”

The Tomball Art League remains committed to enriching public spaces, supporting local artists, and contributing to the continued growth and vibrancy of downtown Tomball.

Tomball, TX — The Tomball Art League proudly announces the completion of a three-panel mural at 314 Market Street in historic downtown Tomball. The mural space and project location were sponsored by The Huston Group, whose support made this community art installation possible.  The Huston Group selected designs by TAL Artists:  Teri Clark and Kathy Wortham from all submissions received.

Painted by members of the Tomball Art League, the mural celebrates Tomball’s agricultural heritage and the railroad legacy that helped establish the town in 1907. Each panel reflects a chapter of Tomball’s story—from early farming and ranching, to the powerful presence of the railroad, and back to the oil that continues to shape the town today.

This marks the League’s first public mural project and reflects its commitment to strengthening community identity through collaborative public art.

Residents and visitors are invited to stop by 314 Market Street to experience this vibrant tribute to Tomball’s past and future.
